EVANS, Ga. (PRWEB) February 20, 2018 -- Creative Pharmacist, the innovative market leader in developing and supporting clinical services offered by community pharmacies, announced today that it aligned its company name to coincide with its flagship clinical intervention platform, STRAND. The alignment corresponds with the new technology and clinical intervention approach the company has taken over the past year.
Despite the name change, ownership and leadership at STRAND will remain the same and will remain as a privately-held, pharmacist-led organization. STRAND will continue to embrace its past focus of chronic care education while focusing on the future of clinical pharmacy through our cutting-edge technologies.
The name derives from Ecclesiastes 4:12, which states ‘…a cord of three strands is not easily broken.’ In the same way, one of the stated goals of STRAND is to bind together the pharmacist, patient, and provider through communication and collaboration to improve healthcare disparities across the country.
“At STRAND, we understand that the pharmacist, the physician, and the patient, all working together, create the strongest bond to ensure quality outcomes,” said David Pope, PharmD, CDE, Chief of Innovation and co-founder. “As we’ve continued to break down barriers experienced by pharmacists in providing clinical services in the community space –such as billing for clinical services and communication between providers – we realized our need to align our name to encapsulate our technology and consultant offerings.”
STRAND is a clinical intervention platform, providing turnkey opportunities for pharmacists to engage in clinical services, such as the Diabetes Prevention Program, point-of-care testing, and opioid abuse prevention counseling, among others. Through its consulting arm, pharmacies can attain the American Association of Diabetes Educators (AADE) accreditation for diabetes education, a prerequisite for billing in STRAND. STRAND also provides claims billing for clinical services –including credentialing and contracting support– directly within the solution.
“We approached this rebrand with extreme care,” said Dan Lawson, Chief of Technology and co-founder. “Our goal is to ensure that we don't lose what we built with the Creative Pharmacist brand but to embody the future of the company as it relates to clinical technology in the pharmacy landscape.”
The STRAND Platform offers single sign-on integration with many of the industry’s top pharmacy management systems, allowing the pharmacist to engage patients within their current pharmacy workflow.
“STRAND's assessment tools and resources embedded in the documentation platform allow pharmacists to conduct thorough, meaningful encounters with patients,” said Lindsey Meson, Director of Clinical Innovation at Asti’s South Hills Pharmacy, who has billed hundreds of claims through their state enhanced services network. “Their billing process is simple to use, and I appreciate how willing the STRAND team has been in assisting me.”
Pharmacies currently using the STRAND platform can utilize these new features at no additional cost and participate in clinical integration efforts across more than 25 CPESN℠ pharmacy networks across the country. (http://www.cpesn.com)
