Wolverine Recreates Pattern from 1940's For All New 1000 Mile Boot
ROCKFORD, Mich. (PRWEB) February 22, 2018 -- Wolverine, the 135-year-old brand known for finely crafted boots, has meticulously recreated an archival pattern from 1940s with the launch of the Wolverine 1000 Mile 1940 boot, available now on wolverine.com.
The Wolverine 1000 Mile 1940 boot is an archival pattern from the 1940s, featuring a distinct two-piece design that is classic and elegant. Made in the USA, the boot's "seamless contour-back" is "cut to copy your ankle" and the pattern lines use triple needle stitching, illustrating the attention to detail and craftsmanship in each pair. The boot features beautiful Horween® leather from Chicago in three different colors: natural, tan and black. The natural leather is 100-percent pure vegetable tanned leather, made using many of the same elements and processes as the company's premier shell cordovan. The natural color is the result of tanning without the use of any dyes and showcases the leather in its most natural state, allowing it to darken and develop a patina with wear.
"We are so fortunate to have such a robust heritage of bootmaking, and can easily find inspiration from our archival patterns and designs," said Carrie Hill, Wolverine senior design manager. "The Wolverine 1000 Mile 1940 boot is a perfect example of giving a nod to our heritage with the re-creation of a timeless style and using the finest materials to handcraft the boot."
The tan and black boots are made with Horween Chromexcel leather. The result is a pull-up leather, that is very oily and waxy, allowing the leather to bloom overtime and give off beautiful tonal effects. The boots are made in Big Rapids, Michigan, USA and utilize a Goodyear™ Welt construction with a butyl-treated leather outsole and a Vibram® rubber heel. Goodyear Welt construction allows the boots to be resoled, making them an investment that will last for years.
A best seller when it was introduced in 1914, the 1000 Mile boot is so durable and comfortable it was said to give you 1000 miles of wear. This particular boot honors its heritage as a recreation of a popular 1940s pattern. The Wolverine 1000 Mile Collection embodies the pillars of Wolverine's heritage - comfort, durability, function and style.
