This public event and its associated festivities will kick off on Friday, March 2nd 2018 and will continue with annual recognition.
“We are so proud to have Courtney honored by the Mayor and to also have a namesake day within the city he grew up in. It is a pretty amazing task and all of us who know him, and know what he contributes to the art of film making to both local and national causes.
JáPaul Glaudé’ recently produced a movie titled “Blink” based on the subject matter of Domestic Violence. In addition to a flagship day in his namesake thanks to Mayor Turner, Courtney was also recently honored for his director’s work after winning an award at this year’s Los Angeles Film Festival. Further, he recently hosted a media awareness day for the movie “Blink” in Atlanta, Georgia, bringing together the likes of national and local press and non-profit initiatives, such as Allstate’s "Purple Purse" initiative, which is led by spokeswoman Serena Williams.
“The most recent private Press Day held at the Marke Venue in Atlanta, Ga helped to bring awareness to the subject of domestic violence thanks to Courtney’s film “Blink”. It was at his forum that leaders previewed the film with a Q&A hosted by ALLSTATE Agent and local Atlanta partner for Blink Dorothy Coker, Harvey Mcclin of Strategic Alliance, National Recording Artist signed to Rick Ross: Queen Just Brittany and several others, but that’s Courtney- he is always working towards a bigger picture and ways to use storytelling to advocate for the awareness of an important cause,” finished Velma Trayham of ThinkZILLA.
