SAN FRANCISCO (PRWEB) February 21, 2018
Scalr, a global pioneer in complex hybrid cloud management, today reported record 2017 results, including a 200% year-over-year (YoY) boost in annual recurring revenue (ARR), nearly doubling of its customer base and 75% YoY expansion in existing customer bookings. The company attributes these results to increasing demand for solutions that help enterprises benefit from hybrid cloud’s scale and agility while giving IT teams operational autonomy and ensuring compliance with corporate security, cost and cloud best practices.
“In the past year, not only has hybrid cloud become the new normal for large enterprises, its use has spread far beyond dev/test into company-wide production environments. This has introduced a whole new level of complexity and put businesses at high risk of runaway costs and security breaks,” said Sebastian Stadil, Founder and CEO of Scalr. “Scalr has a unique approach to hybrid cloud management that gives enterprises unparalleled flexibility and control in large, hybrid cloud environments while protecting their operations and their budget. As our 2017 performance shows, this has led to very strong demand for the Scalr Enterprise-Grade Cloud Management Platform, and as our pipeline indicates, we expect even greater adoption in the coming year.”
Scalr 2017 Highlights:
- Business Growth
Scalr realized 200% YoY ARR growth thanks to a customer roster that grew by 130%, in addition to a significant increase in adoption of the Scalr Platform by existing customers, including Gannett Media, Samsung, HedgeServ and a Fortune 25 conglomerate.
New customers in 2017 included prominent Fortune 500 companies from various industries including healthcare, finance, insurance and more.
To support its global growth and drive aggressive product development, Scalr is doubling the size of its engineering team and significantly expanding its sales and marketing investments in the US and abroad.
- Product Milestones
Scalr Enterprise-Grade Cloud Management Platform (CMP) empowers businesses to build agile hybrid cloud environments through automation, self-service and policies that seamlessly enforce cost and security standards.
In 2017, in addition to adding key new policies around storage management, container management, networking and security, Scalr CMP enhancements included:
Differentiable Self-Service Catalog – Delivers the self-service workflow that makes users most productive. New role-based access control policies allow admins to assign ownership over Service Catalog offerings, making sure users only see items that are relevant to their team and can only make changes to items they own themselves. Admins can also leverage the Scalr Power Console to build scalable, resilient applications and offer them as simple catalog items.
Cloud Services Gateway - Enables end-users to innovate by using the most advanced services the cloud has to offer, while IT ensures responsible, cost-effective use of those resources. Scalr provides safe API access to services like Lambda, RedShift, SQS, DynamoDB and more, while giving admins visibility into usage and control over consumption. With this capability, Scalr’s CMP is uniquely able to support new cloud services the day of their release, allowing developers to leverage ecosystem innovation without disrupting existing workflows.
Farm Templates - Allows IT to treat Scalr applications as code, as a JSON file, and easily push changes through the API. Farm templates support Infrastructure-as-Code use cases and facilitate the Self Service Catalog experience.
Deeper VMware Support – This includes advanced instance configuration and the ability to easily manage IP addresses with third-party IPAMs such as Infoblox and VitalQIP.
