Mchaji Celestaine Wins The Levin Firm’s Bi-Yearly $1,000 Scholarship with Essay Detailing Safety Concerns in Construction Industry
PHILADELPHIA (PRWEB) February 22, 2018 -- The Levin Firm is pleased to announce that Texas Southern University pharmacy student Mchaji Celestaine has been named as the winner of the most recent round of The Levin Firm’s College Scholarship Essay Contest. Mr. Celestaine’s insightful and original essay exploring safety issues in the construction industry demonstrates his potential to excel in the field of his choice, and the firm is proud to be helping him meet the costs associated with obtaining his graduate degree.
Twice a year, The Levin Firms holds a college essay contest, the winner of which receives $1,000 to help with his or her educational expenses. This year’s essay prompt asked applicants to consider how the construction companies and regulators could reduce accidents involving falls, being struck by an object, caught-in/between events, or electrocutions.
Mchaji’s essay examines how the use of automated monitoring and sensor technology could significantly reduce the risk of serious injuries at construction sites. Specifically, he points to how these technologies could help keep workers safer by allowing for real-time biometric monitoring, alerting workers to the presence of dangerous machinery, monitoring environmental conditions, and the detection of falling objects.
The next round of The Levin Firm Scholarship is already active, with responses due on August 15th, 2018 at 9 a.m ET. The essays submitted should answer the following question:
