Cathy Hunter, a mother of six grown children who lives in the Pacific Northwest in between adventures with her husband, Steve, has completed her book “The No Tell Motel”: an entertaining yet poignant commentary on the indelible characters she met while working at a low-end motel on the outermost fringes of respectability.
Cathy shares, “It was no surprise that I was ill-prepared for my new life on skid row, working as the live-in manager for a run-down, sleazy motel. I went from enjoying my sheltered existence of weekly book club gatherings and G-rated luncheons with church friends to rubbing shoulders with hard-core drug dealers and assisting local police with busting criminals. A cyborg, child molester, giant, and kleptomaniac in the Witness Protection Program were just a few of the interesting boarders I had to oversee, with each person more unpredictable than the next. My Christian upbringing taught me long ago to reserve all judgment of others, so I’ll leave that to you. These are the true and humorous stories of my dealings with the seedy, and often criminal, guests of the No Tell Motel.”
Published by New York City-based Page Publishing, Cathy Hunter’s reflections on her time at the No Tell Motel offer a clear-eyed yet compassionate glimpse of humanity in all its messy imperfection.
Readers who wish to experience this engrossing work can purchase “The No Tell Motel” at bookstores everywhere, or online at the Apple iTunes store, Amazon, Google Play, or Barnes and Noble.
