InfoMC, a national healthcare technology company providing behavioral health care management and patient centric care coordination solutions, is pleased to announce that its Chairman and CEO, JJ Farook, will participate in the second annual Tour of Jaffna bike ride for charity. The purpose of the bike ride is to aid the Friends of Manipay Hospital (FoMH) charity in the reconstruction of the Green Memorial Hospital in Manipay, Jaffna, Northern Sri Lanka. The hospital, founded by American medical missionary Samuel Fiske Green in 1847, was once the premier medical institution in northern Sri Lanka before being ravaged by war and economic hardship.
The Green Memorial Hospital is the second oldest teaching medical institution in Asia and serves all communities in Northern Sri Lanka. The hospital is a fully charity funded not-for-profit institution where 50 percent of patient care is subsidized by the FoMH charity. The hospital is in need of funding, equipment, and the goodwill of specialist doctors, nurses and other medical professionals, so it can be better equipped to serve the healthcare needs of its patients from all communities in the region.
“I am honored to be participating in this inspiring event in support of the historical Green Memorial Hospital and the people of Sri Lanka,” said Mr. Farook. “This cause is particularly meaningful to me as a Sri Lankan native, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to have a direct impact on the quality of healthcare received by thousands of individuals,” Farook said.
The charity ride will take place from February 28th to March 3rd, covering approximately 400km over 4 stages/days, with overnight stops in Puttalam, Vavuniya and Killinochchi, before arriving in Jaffna. Through the generosity of corporate sponsorships and donations, the 2nd Annual Tour of Jaffna can cover the operating budget of the event, raise needed funds cost-effectively, underwrite future events, expand fundraising programs and help rural communities.
