SALT LAKE CITY (PRWEB) February 24, 2018 -- Salt Lake Community College is hosting author and activist Bobby Seale, co-founder of the Black Panther Party, at SLCC's Grand Theatre on Feb. 26 at 7 p.m. The free event is open to the public.
Seale will present the authentic historical account of the Black Panther Party and then participate in a Q&A. Immediately following the event, Seale will be selling and autographing memorabilia (books, posters, etc.) in the Alumni Room.
Seale will share his firsthand experiences of the "Black Man's life" in the 60s. With an unfiltered lens, shaped by extreme challenges, he will share his true story, one that will instill and inspire the hope that change is possible. His mission, "Giving Power to the People," has led him to continuously stand up for racial equality. His message is called "resounding," to never give up the struggle for true liberation and freedom, "as it is everyone's duty to proactively work to preserve constitutional rights for all." Seale's presentation is said to have the capacity to reconfigure our understanding of what life was like in the 60s, what it is today, and - most importantly - what we can all do as an empowered people to determine how his personal experiences will help to shape our lives.
The landmark Grand Theatre is a 1,100-seat venue located at Salt Lake Community College's historic South City Campus, home of the innovative and state-of-the-industry Center for Arts and Media at 1575 South State Street in Salt Lake City.
