Hanna Wu- Houston Medical Student Wins SignatureCare ER Scholarship
HOUSTON (PRWEB) February 26, 2018 -- SignatureCare Emergency Center issued their Spring 2018 Scholarship to Texas Southern University student Hanna Wu. The $1000 student scholarship is awarded each semester to a deserving student. Congratulations Hanna!
SignatureCare Emergency Centers Spring 2018 scholarship was awarded to Hanna Wu who is a medical student at Texas Southern University with a 3.5 GPA. Wu was inspired to go into the medical field after uncle was diagnosed with and eventually succumbed to leukemia. She was very impressed by the care her uncle received from the medical staff who cared for him, and wanted to follow in that path.
“The applicants for this scholarship were nothing short of amazing, and though the decision was very difficult to make Wu’s essay gave great insight as to why someone chooses a career in the healthcare profession,” said SignatureCare Emergency Center’s Chief Medical Officer, Billy Miller.
SignatureCare started their scholarship fund Spring 2018 and Wu is the fifth SignatureCare Emergency Center Student Scholarship Award winner since its creation. SignatureCare awards a $1,000 scholarship twice a year, once for Fall Semester and one for Spring Semester. The scholarship is open to students across America, the applicants must be studying in the medical field, with a 3.0 GPA, and are required to submit a video and an essay answering the question, “who Inspired you to enter the medical field?”
“Ms. Wu’s passion for and her understanding of what the medical field is about and its importance and impact on life overwhelmingly gave us immense joy in selecting her as our Spring 2018 Scholarship Recipient,” said Miller. “Investing in her education now, will lead medical certainty for the future.”
