Arizona Gives Day Rallies Support for Arizona Nonprofits on April 3, 2018
PHOENIX (PRWEB) March 05, 2018 -- Arizona Gives Day is a grassroots, statewide day of giving that invites Arizonans to support their favorite causes. Participants can visit azgives.org and donate the day-of (April 3), or schedule gifts in advance beginning March 1.
Hosted by the Alliance of Arizona Nonprofits and Arizona Grantmakers Forum and presented by FirstBank, Arizona Gives Day has raised more than $10.14 million for Arizona nonprofits since its founding in 2013.
On April 3, the public will be asked to "invest in Arizona" by giving to organizations that are doing important work, improving the well-being of our state. Participating nonprofits include large and small organizations dedicated to arts and culture, children and youth, community development, health services, animal welfare and more.
"Arizona Gives Day proves that anyone can be a philanthropist, no matter the amount they give," says Laurie Liles, President and CEO of Arizona Grantmakers Forum. "Every donation strengthens our community and brings awareness to the critical services nonprofits provide in Arizona every day."
For participating nonprofits, Arizona Gives Day offers an opportunity to raise awareness about their work, connect with new donors and win prize money to supplement individual donations. Last year, Arizona nonprofits raised $2.74 million through the generosity of 18,301 online donations.
"One of the most meaningful ways we can show our support for the critical work nonprofits do for our communities is to share our time, talent and treasures with these amazing organizations," says Kristen Merrifield, CEO of the Alliance of Arizona Nonprofits. "A donation on Arizona Gives Day is an opportunity to make a new or deeper connection with a nonprofit, all while ensuring these organizations are financially sustainable for years to come."
In the past, donations large and small have contributed to life-changing advancements throughout our state. This year, the event is poised to be bigger than ever. In 2017, 1,028 organizations participated statewide, with more than 300 of them joining the day of giving for the first time. Given the early excitement among nonprofits this year, Arizona Gives Day 2018 is on track to make an even larger impact.
"As the presenting sponsor since the program's inception, we're extremely proud to see both the number of donors and participating nonprofits grow every year," says Bryce Lloyd, President-Phoenix Metro, FirstBank. "We believe in creating strong communities by supporting our nonprofit sector, and there is no better or more efficient way for individuals and businesses to help strengthen our community than Arizona Gives Day."
