BlueStacks Announces XPack Gaming and Launches Enhanced Gaming Experiences for Knives Out and Rules of Survival
PALO ALTO, Calif. (PRWEB) February 28, 2018 -- Today, mobile gaming platform BlueStacks announced the launch of XPacks - a custom addon for select top games played inside the BlueStacks Gaming Platform. The first two games to receive XPacks are Knives Out and Rules of Survival and feature a custom control scheme that BlueStacks calls, “Battle Royale Mode.” In addition to enhanced controls or “Powerups”, playing the game on BlueStacks provides access to a library of game-related content, custom BlueStacks skins, in-platform currency, and completely revamped game performance.
“As we provide a more holistic gaming experience, the content surrounding the game becomes as much of the experience as the game itself - irrespective of platform,” says Yuriy Yarovoy, VP of Marketing. “We want players to get more than just the basic game experience every time they load BlueStacks. On a phone, you just get the game. On BlueStacks, the entire experience from startup, to gameplay, to graphics, to content before and after the game, is customized for the player and the game they’re playing.”
The core component of XPacks is the completely optimized performance across a variety of PC hardware profiles. BlueStacks aims to make each XPack improve the performance of the game while adding extra features and in-platform currency bonuses to improve the gamer’s experience. Yarovoy says, "With Battle Royale-style games like Rules of Survival and Knives Out, it’s incredibly difficult to play on anything but the latest smartphones and even then, the screen size, controls, and internet connection become the limiting factors between a chicken dinner and dying as soon as you touch down.”
BlueStacks plans to release at least one XPack per week for some of the biggest Android games in the Google Play store. Each XPack will be downloadable directly from within BlueStacks and will be free. Some premium XPacks can be redeemed for Pika Points - the in-platform currency used to purchase skins, BlueStacks-branded items, and gaming accessories. Gamers can learn more about each XPack on the BlueStacks blog.
Based in Silicon Valley with offices in Beijing, Delhi, London, Berlin, Moscow, Tokyo, Seoul and Ho Chih Minh City, BlueStacks is funded with 27M USD from Ignition Partners, Radar Partners, Andreessen-Horowitz, Samsung, Redpoint, Qualcomm, Intel, Presidio Ventures (a Sumitomo Corporation Company), Citrix, AMD and Helion Ventures. The 150-person company launched in May, 2011 and the first version of its App Player was released in March, 2012. BlueStacks crossed 250 million users in December of 2017.
