Dave Carvajal, CEO of executive search firm Dave Partners, co-founder of HotJobs, investor and operating executive at Ladders will hold a special discussion and signing of his new book 'Hire Smart from the Start' at Barnes & Noble Union Square in New York City on March 12th at 6:30pm.

As co-founder, Carvajal built HotJobs to 650 employees, USD 125 million in revenues, and a $1.2 billion market cap. The team experienced a second exit when it was acquired by Yahoo! in February 2002. He built Ladders to 400 employees, with USD 85 million in revenues.

Today, Carvajal acts as advisor and executive recruiter for board members, public company CEOs, and venture-backed startup entrepreneurs in the high-growth technology space.

Carvajal is a graduate of executive education and leadership programs at The Wharton School, Columbia Business School, and The Harvard Business School. He holds a Bachelor’s degree from Clemson University.

Carvajal is donating 100 percent of profits from Hire Smart from the Start to Room to Read, a global non-profit working to give children in less developed countries effective teachers, high-quality children's books, and essential life skills.

The program’s aim is to help underserved children escape the cycle of poverty through quality education. Carvajal’s personal mission is to enrich the lives of 20,000 children before the end of this decade by integrating his life's work advising leaders in building billion-dollar businesses.
