She looked into it and fell in love with the post-secondary franchise, which just passed its thirtieth year as Canada’s largest and oldest private post-secondary college.

Academy of Learning Career College, Airdrie is celebrating its twentieth anniversary as a leading private career college in Canada. Cheryl Hauck started the business twenty years ago after she herself wanted to upgrade her business and office skills. She kept thinking that there must be a better way to learn this material.

“It was ironic that she found the Academy of Learning franchise as their slogan was and still is: ‘Simply a better way to learn,’” added Ken Hauck, who owns Academy of Learning Airdrie with his wife, Cheryl. “She looked into it and fell in love with the post-secondary franchise, which just passed its thirtieth year as Canada’s largest and oldest private post-secondary college.”

The mission of the Academy of Learning Career College is to improve the lives of students and the communities in which they live. Some diploma programs offered are medical, accounting, business, office, computer and IT courses. The Academy of Learning Career College, via its Integrated Learning™ System (ILS), has helped its graduates successfully complete over one million diploma and certificate programs.

“The reason for our students’ success comes from training with our exclusive ILS system,” noted Ken. “It is unique to Academy of Learning and offers a method of learning whereby course materials and instruction provide an all-encompassing learning experience using multi-sensory learning styles and preferences through student workbooks, media presentations, hands-on exercises, and one-on-one attention from our highly-qualified Learning Coaches. The best thing about it is graduates hit the ground running.”

The Academy of Learning Career College, Airdrie Campus is also excited to introduce a new system from D2L -- the Brightspace learning management system, which is used by schools, higher education, and businesses for online training. It is one of the largest platforms for education worldwide.

Furthermore, when local businesses lay people off or are shut down, Academy of Learning Airdrie offers free courses for things such as job search and resume writing. It is also a place that local businesses can call to get the resumes of recent graduates to hire them.

“Our ultimate dream would be if all our students would have jobs when they graduate and places where they can work to enrich their own lives and the community they live in,” concluded Ken, “as so many businesses and people in our Airdrie community have done for us over the past twenty years of business. For that, we thank you as it has been our privilege to serve this community.”
