Prospect Silicon Valley Strengthens Leadership Team with Energy Expert
SAN JOSE, Calif. (PRWEB) March 02, 2018 -- Prospect Silicon Valley announced today that Kristine Walker has joined the organization as the Director of Energy Programs. With over 15 years of management experience and deep domain expertise in energy and the built environment, Ms. Walker will be responsible for strategy and business development, project management, and start-up client commercialization support for ProspectSV’s energy efficiency and clean power initiatives.
“Kristine brings real-world experience in the successful deployment of emerging clean technologies that have a material impact on the energy efficiency of buildings and the generation and consumption of clean power by public and private sector enterprises,” said Ruth Cox, CEO of ProspectSV. “She is a tremendous addition to ProspectSV’s leadership team and we are delighted she has joined us to share her considerable expertise with our sponsors, start-up clients, public sector associates and other ecosystem partners.”
With a strong background in sustainability, Ms. Walker’s most relevant experience comes from her time as a Project Manager at the US General Services Administration’s Pacific Rim Region. While working at GSA, Ms. Walker led the development of a comprehensive sustainability plan focused on deep energy savings in the Region’s buildings portfolio. The plan’s implementation resulted in a dramatic reduction in energy consumption in the first year – 5 time the annual average for the previous ten years – and the energy savings have continued to grow. She also managed the deployment of $24+ million in American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) funded energy and water upgrade projects which met or exceeded energy and water saving goals. Additionally, while Ms. Walker attained her master’s degree in building science from UC Berkeley School of Architecture, she worked as a researcher at the Center for the Built Environment. She has been a LEED AP for more than a decade.
At ProspectSV, Ms. Walker will immediately begin expanding our strategic approach to the built environment and energy sectors. She will also be taking on a project management role in several of ProspectSV’s CEC-funded projects, and will have an advisory position to start-up clients on the ProspectSV roster. As a start-up supervisor, she will work closely with existing and new clients to strengthen their product offerings, refine their market approach, and increase their ability to achieve commercial success.
Finally, Kristine will be moderating the Distributed Energy Resources panel at ProspectSV’s annual Innovation and Impact Symposium. The symposium, which will take place on May 31st at San Jose City Hall, will focus on how the emerging technologies of today will be the foundation for the smart cities of tomorrow.
