Major Operator MGTS Selects Krontech For Secure Access Control Capabilities
JERSEY CITY, N.J. (PRWEB) March 01, 2018 -- Krontech Inc., a leader in Network Access Control Systems, announced today it has been selected by MGTS, Moscow’s main communications service provider, to upgrade their current Access Control Systems (ACS) to provide even greater security and network operations efficiency as MGTS continues to expand.
The implemented solution provides network authorization, access rights and session monitoring for all actions within the MGTS network. MGTS relied on cooperation between Krontech and Technoserve to deploy the Krontech Single Connect solution within the MGTS environment.
“After building one of the largest fiber optic networks in Europe, with a total length of 45,000 km, MGTS was granted GPON access for 98% of the population in Moscow. Today we serve over 4 million subscribers, providing traditional fiber, fixed and mobile network services and innovative internetservices,” - comments Alexander Trokhin, Technology and Information Director for MGTS. - “To ensure the smooth operation of our large-scale network, it is extremely important to guard against potential errors in the configuration of the network equipment. To improve security and manageability of the network, we ran a bid process and ultimately selected a solution that meets our requirements. I am confident that the Krontech Single Connect system will improve our access control efficiency with a heightened level of security."
"We are truly honored to have been selected by MGTS, particularly given the quality of the competition,” said Osman Erkan, CEO of Krontech. “We share the same passion for security and the same mission for serving customers, particularly as the operation of networks becomes increasingly complex. Our aim is to simplify and automate internal requirements and ensure smooth operations and unbreakable security.”
As part of the project, existing access control systems were analyzed by MGTS and profile definitions, security policies and lists of allowed and forbidden commands were developed. The project scope included: installation and configuration of software and hardware, integration of system components into the existing information and technical infrastructure, complete system setup in accordance with technical documentation, commissioning the system, collecting information on the work during the pilot operation period and analysis of the received data, adaptation of system settings based on the results of the pilot operation, training of MGTS specialists, acceptance testing, deployment of the system into commercial operation, and solution maintenance and support.
"The active phase of the project was completed in 2.5 months. Thanks to the implementation of this solution, MGTS has now obtained a centralized system for ensuring secure access to network devices. The solution was designed based on the existing topology and the specific requirements for MGTS. Especially important for this project was leveraging Technoserv’s Center of Engineering Competences specialists in the field of information security for PAM (Privileged Access Management) solutions, which includes Krontech’s Single Connect solution," - says Mikhail Bireev, Sales Director of Mobile Telecom Operators and Internet Companies Department, Technoserv.
