Anitian, the oldest security intelligence firm in the nation, announced today it has partnered with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to create a workshop designed to instruct cloud engineers, DevOps team members and other security leaders. The workshop will cover how to secure and manage regulated environments in AWS, for example PCI, CJIS, HIPAA, and DFARs. Participants will learn how to shift their organizations toward a cloud-first approach, learn new skills that are unique to the cloud, network with peers, and dig into the latest industry issues and trends.

This workshop will be held at the AWS Elemental Technologies Office in Portland, Oregon on March 14th and will focus on the security of an AWS customer account design, security architecture, and security automation leading practices. The result will enable cloud engineers and security practitioners to design, architect and implement automation in an AWS customer account to automatically enforce compliance requirements. It will also enable attendees to document their security governance/audit readiness through integration of AWS Security Partners.

"This live event will allow those at the forefront of cloud security to inspire and interact with each other. Bringing thought leaders together in this area is essential to creating a stable future for cloud security," said Andrew Plato, CEO of Anitian.

AWS customers and developers continue to struggle demonstrating alignment with security, compliance and audit requirements, such as the PCI-DSS. Additionally, many compliance requirements necessitate administrative and operational security controls that lack technical validation.

Attendees will be learning how to:

  • Establish secure foundational account design and/or remediation of existing customer accounts
  • Configure and manage AWS Security Services with a focus on automation
  • Implement and design security automation services through AWS services and partner solutions
  • Manage, secure and audit the use of AWS services using real-time risk management processes
  • Leverage shared compliance across multiple security frameworks
