AZNFF Announces 2018 Scholar-Athlete Award Winners
PHOENIX (PRWEB) March 07, 2018 -- The National Football Foundation- Valley of the Sun Chapter alongside the Fiesta Bowl Charities have announced the 2017/2018 Scholarship Award Winners. Representing all 250,000 high school football players from 186 high schools in central and northern Arizona, the winners were selected based on the combined criteria of 40% academics, 40% football accomplishments and 20% school and community citizenship and participation. The 37th annual Scholar Athlete Awards Banquet is on March 24, 2018 from 5-9pm at the Scottsdale Hilton Resort and Villas. Brad Cesmat of AZ360 will be in the master of ceremonies.
The president of the NFF-Valley of the Sun Chapter, Adam Turner stated, “It is an honor to celebrate the accomplishments these men have made during their high school careers. They are successful not only on the football field, but in the classroom and community as well. These men are great examples of well rounded student-athletes and we couldn’t be more proud to award them with scholarships.”
Steven Leach, Chairman of the Board for the Fiesta Bowl Charities commented, “Fiesta Bowl Charities is proud to partner with the NFF-Valley of the Sun to provide scholarships to young athletes based upon their academic, athletic success and community involvement. We are excited to see what the future holds for these gentlemen.”
