Kirn, an environmental attorney at global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP, with be a panelist in an upcoming American Bar Association webinar, “Cost Recovery Under California’s HSAA: New Cases Clarify the Right to Sue and Causation.” The program will take place March 6 at 1 p.m. ET.
The speakers will discuss the implications of two recent California cases brought under the state’s Superfund law, the Hazardous Substances Account Act (HSAA). The panelists will explain how the HSAA compares to CERCLA and other state Superfund statutes and discuss the distinctions between voluntary brownfields clean-up programs and statutory frameworks. Kirn, an attorney in the firm’s Philadelphia office, focuses on environmental and energy matters. She represents clients in litigation in state and federal courts and works on behalf of developers and corporations in connection with the acquisition, transfer, financing, and sale of contaminated real estate, including complex project redevelopments and environmental liability transfers. Before joining Greenberg Traurig, Kirn handled air, waste, and toxics enforcement matters in the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Office of Regional Counsel in Seattle, Washington.
