Lauritzen Gardens Antiques Show Unveils 2018 Design Experts, Celebrates 15 Years
OMAHA, Neb. (PRWEB) March 07, 2018 -- The Lauritzen Gardens Antiques Show unveiled its 2018 lineup of design experts, authors, and trendsetters to serve as keynote lecturers at the highly anticipated event to be held September 20-23. Celebrating its fifteenth year, the show also revealed a fresh new look to its four day celebration of design and culture, filled with educational experiences and fabulous shopping opportunities.
With the backdrop of one of the Midwest's premier botanical gardens, the show offers a one-of-a-kind collector’s experience not found elsewhere in the region. Showcasing more than 30 international and domestic antiques exhibitor booths, the show features all genres of antiques of exceptional quality and extraordinary style.
To kick off the show weekend, the festivities will begin on Thursday, September 20 with a reservations-only patron preview party – a chance to sip cocktails, enjoy fine food and live music, and shop the show ahead of the general public.
Miles Redd will take the stage on Friday, September 21 at the event's signature luncheon. Redd is known for his unique aesthetic vision which is characterized by a mélange of high and low, a strong sense of color, and a traditional approach with modern gestures. His trademark approach to design has brought to life rooms infused with boldness, wit, fantasy, and sophistication. He served as the creative director of Oscar de la Renta Home from 2003 to 2013 and his work has been featured in Vogue, W, House Beautiful, Elle Décor, Veranda, and Architectural Digest. Miles was most recently honored as one of Architectural Digest’s “AD 100” where he has been since 2012.
On Saturday, September 22, designer, author and observer of all things stylish, Steven Stolman will share his experience as president of Scalamandre, the renowned textiles house. During his tenure, he spearheaded an extraordinary brand expansion strategy that brought the Scalamandre name and its iconic motifs to distinctive collections of china and crystal, deluxe bedding, lighting, upholstered furniture, decorative accessories and paper goods that continue to be sold worldwide. Stolman owns and operates a boutique public relations and marketing practice catering to the world of high-end design and decor. He is especially proud of his role in connecting Kohler, the global home products manufacturer, to the world of distinctive American designer show houses from coast to coast. He is a member of the Council of Fashion Designers of America and has written pieces for Architectural Digest, Elle Décor and Town & Country magazines.
Under the leadership of honorary chairmen Cindy Bay and Mary Seina, the show has grown in stature to become one of the region’s most anticipated events, while generating generous financial support for the garden. Event chairs, Mimi Post and Mary Johnson are leading this year’s show. “We are so pleased to join with Miles Redd and Steven Stolman to inspire our guests and celebrate this incredible event's fifteen year anniversary,” commented Mimi Post, who is the daughter of honorary chair and show co-founder, Mary Seina. “This is a very special year and we want to celebrate this important milestone, as well as contribute to the beauty that is Lauritzen Gardens,” said Mary Johnson.
Show hours will be 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Show admission is $10 and includes access to the garden and the Marjorie K. Daugherty Conservatory as well as all Antique Academy sessions.
