4SIGHT’s Scott Halvorson and Parts Town’s Kenny William will present the session, “Quadruple the Speed, Half the Space: How Parts Town and 4SIGHT Made It Happen with AutoStore,” Tuesday, March 13, from 10:20-11:10 a.m. CST. Their discussion will give attendees a view into the Parts Town project, which included moving to a new warehouse and building the space-saving AutoStore infrastructure with Bastian Solutions. Parts Town partnered with 4SIGHT to develop the integration between the HighJump warehouse management system (WMS) and Bastian Solutions’ Exacta warehouse control system, which interfaces with AutoStore.
With their integrated solution, Parts Town has achieved impressive results, most notably the ability to pick products at four times the previous rate, using only 2 percent of the warehouse floor space. Parts Town’s AutoStore configuration holds approximately 27,000 SKUs in 15,100 bins. It uses 21 robots and six ports—four for picking and two for put-away.
