Century Business Solutions Announces EMV Compatibility and TLS 1.2 Security Upgrade
IRVINE, Calif. (PRWEB) March 07, 2018 -- Technology-based merchant services provider Century Business Solutions is proud to announce that all versions of its software integrations for Acumatica, SAP Business One, and Microsoft Dynamics GP now support EMV chip card compatibility.
EMV chip card technology creates a unique code that can only be used once. This feature is virtually impossible to duplicate, helping to reduce fraud and enhance payment security.
Century Business Solutions secures all EMV transactions through its PCI-compliant payment gateway, EBizCharge. All communications and processing in EBizCharge occur through Transport Layer Security (TLS). TLS ensures privacy between communicating applications and their users on the internet. To ensure the highest level of security, EBizCharge uses a 2048-bit RSA key and does not support ciphers known to be weak or vulnerable.
In 2015, the PCI Security Standards Council mandated that merchants must discontinue the use of TLS 1.0 by June 2018. The TLS 1.0 encryption standard no longer meets minimum security requirements due to vulnerabilities in the protocol that cannot be fixed. TLS 1.0 and 1.1 are known to have security vulnerabilities. The risk of a data breach with older versions of TLS is significant, and Century Business Solutions intends to pursue the most secure options available. To maximize payment security, the EBizCharge gateway now uses TLS 1.2 optimal security to protect users from security vulnerabilities.
EBizCharge also employs fraud prevention features that are built on a module stack design. Each module controls a different aspect of security so that merchants can choose which modules to include in their fraud control stack. The module stack design gives merchants the option to add or change their fraud modules depending on their unique security needs.
The fraud prevention modules also allow merchants to apply different fraud settings to different keys or sources. For example, a merchant may wish to implement a high level of fraud control for an online shopping cart but a lower level on the console for their own employees.
In the EBizCharge system, each credit card number is stored individually, making it impossible to steal an entire list or database full of sensitive data. Credit card numbers can only be viewed on an individual basis by unlocking or decrypting each one. If a card number is needed, the requested number is decrypted and unparsed from the system, a process that takes only a few seconds.
EBizCharge’s non-database system provides the highest possible level of security for credit card data storage.
By combining multi-layered security screening and proactive account monitoring with the latest tokenization and encryption technologies, the company is on the forefront in preventing cyber fraud.
