SIM Seattle To Host The Seattle Technology Leadership Summit at the Bell Harbor International Conference Center on June 7, 2018
SEATTLE (PRWEB) March 08, 2018 -- The Seattle Technology Leadership Summit is a gathering of leaders, professionals, and academics working in the I.T. field. As technology continues to redefine the boundaries of industries and replace markets’ traditional geographic regions with borderless digital environments, it has become essential for local organizations to be aware of the global trends in their sectors and implement strategies to integrate them into their operations in order to be able to stay agile and maintain their competitive edge.
This year’s Leadership Summit will look at emerging I.T. trends and provide insights into innovative leadership skills in today’s fast-paced digital age. The opening keynote, titled “How to Get the CEO’s Attention—Without Losing Your Job” will be delivered by Gary Garfield, former President and CEO Bridgestone Americas. For more than six years, Gary Garfield was CEO of Bridgestone Americas, a $15 billion, 55,000 employee diverse organization with operations on five continents. He will share his insights as to how IT executives should best interact with the CEO and other top executives in order to maximize their effectiveness as leaders within the organization as well as tips on how to improve critical leadership skills.
Christine Putur, CIO of Recreational Equipment, Inc. (REI) will deliver the afternoon keynote. Christine is a strategic business leader with over 25 years of experience driving revenue growth, improving customer experiences, integrating acquisitions, and reducing operating expenses in global retail and high tech companies. Previously Christine was the CIO for Coach, she joined Coach in 2013 and led the creation a multi-year investment plan to transform Coach’s core business processes and technical platforms from aged, geographically diverse solutions to a global, simplified, standardized, scalable foundation.
The closing keynote is Steve Brown, the Bald Futurist. Steve helps organizations to understand the major technologies that will shape the future five, ten, or fifteen years from now, and then to determine the strategies they will need to follow to take full advantage of the opportunity that is being created. Steve inspires his audiences to think beyond the current status quo, and to imagine ways that they can optimize operations, create new value, and delight customers in new ways, all by taking full advantage of emerging new technology platforms.
Along with the tremendous lineup of keynote speakers, this event will give attendees unlimited access to a variety of breakout sessions to learn how their peers are overcoming common obstacles that many of Seattle’s organizations are facing.
The host of the Seattle Technology Leadership Summit, Society of Information Managers (SIM), is a professional organization for technology leaders, including CIOs, CTOs, CISOs, and other IT leaders. The goal of SIM is to bring together senior tech leaders to share knowledge, grow as leaders, and network with other Tech leaders and colleagues. SIM currently has 42 chapters in the U.S. and Canada with approximately 5,000 total members.
