Cynopsis Sports is proud to announce that two of the industry’s distinguished executives, Scott Greenstein, President and Chief Content Officer of SiriusXM, and Katrina Adams, Chairman of the Board & President for the United States Tennis Association (USTA) will be among the VIPs who will be honored at this year’s event as the recipients of the 2018 Legacy Award and Vision Award respectively.

Boasting some of the hottest properties, campaigns and brands from around the world of sports, the seventh annual Cynopsis Sports Media Awards Breakfast will take place on April 12 at the New York Athletic Club in Manhattan. These honorees will be joined by dozens of finalists who are competing for signature sports business awards presented by the daily sports business publication. The Cynopsis Sports Media Awards recognize the most outstanding work in the sports industry from the past year with categories that span television, digital, marketing and more.

As part of the festivities, Cynopsis also pays tribute annually with special awards that are given to sports luminaries who changed the way their brands connected with fans across the country and around the world. This year will see Greenstein honored with the 2018 Legacy Award while Adams accepts the Vision Award.

“Our awards ceremony has recognized some true legends in this business over the years and the additions of Scott and Katrina this year continues that legacy,” said Chris Pursell, Director of Sports Content for Cynopsis. “Both Scott and Katrina have labored hard over the years to transform the sports landscape that we see today and we look forward to welcoming them in April.”

SiriusXM President and CCO Scott Greenstein will receive the Legacy Award, presented annually to a C-level media executive whose work has transformed the world of sports throughout their career. He leads the largest radio company (measured by revenue) and one of the largest subscription media companies in the world. Since Greenstein joined SiriusXM in 2004, the company’s programming lineup has expanded to include more than 200 channels of commercial-free music, sports, news, comedy, talk and entertainment, broadcasting on the company’s satellite platform and SiriusXM streaming online. SiriusXM’s programming covers the gamut of sports and their platform is home to many top sports media personalities, as well as many athletes and coaches who have made successful entries into broadcasting.

The Vision Award is presented annually to an executive from a sports league or organization who has demonstrated innovation and leadership that has transformed the industry. This year’s honoree, Katrina Adams, has skillfully guided the United States Tennis Association over the past few years. Her outstanding leadership is the reason she has become the first person to ever serve two terms as President of the USTA. Under Adams' leadership, the USTA launched its new unified youth tennis initiative "Net Generation," opened the world's leading model tennis facility in Orlando, Fla., and leads the strategic transformation of the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center, home of the US Open. A former professional tennis player, Katrina has become a powerful force in the business world.

These luminaries, along with dozens of category winners will be honored on April 12 at the Cynopsis Sports Awards breakfast. Also receiving high honorees will be Stephen Espinoza, President, Sports & Event Programming for Showtime receiving the Navigator Award and James Carwana, VP and GM of Intel Sports, accepting the Gem (Brand of the Year) Award. General categories include awards for the year’s best work in live coverage of a sporting event, apps, new sport show, fantasy game, live stream presentation and marketing campaign. The full list of finalists and categories can be viewed here: cynopsis.com/events/2018-sports-media-awards.
