“The people of Puerto Rico continue to struggle and we want to help,” said Floyd Hammer, founder of The Outreach Program. “We are glad to provide meals so Hope Heroes can help people rebuild the bridge to their lives.” These meals, formulated by Iowa State University’s Food Science Department, are fortified with nutrients and vitamins to provide survivors with proper nutrition.
“We provide more than just a bottle of water and a blanket, we are community hope providers” said Ryan Gergen, Founder and Executive Director of Hope Heroes NFP. “These meals are another link in the chain of the community rebuilding we provide. Nutritious meals are critical for the physical and mental health of survivors along their journey to recovery.”
“To date, we have provided more than 500,000 meals to Puerto Rico but the need continues,” said Hammer. “We continue to welcome financial donations for meals or groups willing to host packaging events to provide the meals. Every little bit helps.”
