Partnering with Wistron Greentech enables Perago Contract Specialists to become a sole-source candidate for Governmental agencies’ recycling initiatives.
DALLAS (PRWEB) March 14, 2018
Perago Contract Specialists, LLC, (http://www.peragocontracting.com) a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business, owned and operated by disabled Veteran, Bruce A. Hewitt, has announced that it has entered into a Subcontracting Agreement with Wistron GreenTech Corporation, Texas (http://greentx.wistron.com) to provide electronic recycling services to the United States Government. Wistron GreenTech is the green recycling arm of Wistron Corporation, which designs and manufactures technology products for global distribution and has an annual revenue exceeding $30 Billion USD.
As consumer and enterprise devices decrease in price, the Federal Government (and individual consumers) benefit, and the demand for products rises. However, this exponential growth in electronics manufacturing has led to rapid growth of end-of-life electronics or e-waste. eWaste includes dated computer equipment from enterprise levels to consumer devices such as televisions and mobile phones. In most cases, these items can be refurbished or recycled – however, most of these products still find their way to landfills.
These issues are gaining substantial increased attention by both industry and consumers alike, as well as policymakers. In the United States, 25 states have mandated electronics recycling, covering 65 percent of the U.S. Population. eWaste is also subject to the federal Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA).
Perago Contract Specialists, in partnering with Wistron GreenTech provides an environmentally responsible and sustainable process for the Federal Government to dispose of the massive volumes of eWaste produced each year by its numerous Federal Agencies. Wistron GreenTech processes electronics and refines precious metals extracted from the eWaste in their 200,000-square-foot facility in McKinney, Texas. With their process, Wistron GreenTech is able to resupply manufacturers with the gold (and other metals and materials) necessary to produce other electronic devices, thus reducing the need for environmental damage from mining, reducing landfill disposal and complying with the RCRA. Wistron GreenTech’s process maximizes the efficiency in processes and reduces their waste output to 0.15%.
“We are extremely proud of our partnership agreement with Wistron GreenTech. Perago Contract Specialists is a recognized contractor for medical staffing with the Department of Veteran’s Affairs, and this relationship now allows us to expand and provide additional services to every branch of the United States Federal Government. Working with a company like Wistron GreenTech allows us to avoid many of the environmentally damaging issues in the processing of eWaste and rest confident that the much more environmentally friendly solutions Wistron GreeTech employs reduce environmental burden,” said Jeremy McGowan, Director of Operations for Perago Contract Specialists, LLC.
Perago has developed long-term partnerships with numerous companies to receive their outgoing electronic devices; from old computers, cellular phones, monitors and even to hospital equipment. The agreement between Perago and Wistron GreenTech provides a unique avenue for companies looking to update and upgrade their current technology. Not only can companies offload their used electronics in bulk, they may work with Perago to purchase new equipment and have a repair and maintenance service added, extending the longevity of those devices, reducing the need to refresh the technology at their end-of-life.
“Partnering with Wistron Greentech enables Perago Contract Specialists to become a sole-source candidate for Governmental agencies’ recycling initiatives. Because of this partnership, we are also able to provide agencies with cost-free evaluations of their current recycling goals; from providing fair market valuations of assets to providing detailed recommendations based on the agency’s internal policies and requirements,” stated Bruce Hewitt, CEO of Perago Contract Specialists, LLC.
On December 20th, 2017, President Donald Trump signed an executive order that calls for an end to U.S. reliance on foreign sources of critical materials. The partnership between Perago Contract Specialists and Wistron GreenTech allows the Federal Government to participate in an environmentally friendly and cost-effective program which increases the domestic supply of these critical materials.
