AQYR Technologies Launches New Auto-Acquisition Satellite Terminals
HOLLIS, N.H. (PRWEB) March 14, 2018 -- AQYR Technologies today announced the introduction of two new families of satellite terminal systems, Caelus and Taranis. These terminals bring the award-winning capabilities AQYR developed for the AN/PRS-11 receive suite used on the Global Broadcast Service (GBS) to a broad array of government and commercial users.
Caelus is a cost effective, auto-acquire system that leverages the latest advances in processing power and motorization. It introduces the industry’s fastest and most accurate pointing system, InstAQYR. InstAQYR uses Differential GPS and high-speed motorization to acquire satellites in under 20 seconds (on average) and to rapidly move between satellites.
The initial product is a 1.2 m, Ku-band, transportable terminal with a 6-piece segmented reflector for ease of transport. The two-case system can be easily assembled without tools and contains an integrated controller that supports single button acquisition. Additional options to be introduced include Ka, X and C-band capability, vehicle and pole mounts, a 1m antenna and the capability to track inclined orbit MEO and LEO satellites.
Taranis is a 65 cm, dual optics, Gregorian antenna that fits onto AQYR’s lightest mount, providing a powerful, compact, auto-acquire platform. It is configured as a single case transportable antenna using the same easy-to-use and set-up mount as AQYR’s popular TYPHOON and ThinPACK terminals. The initial configuration supports Ka or X band, with Ku band soon to follow.
The terminals are being introduced on March 14 at 11:00 a.m. at SATELLTE 2018 in the SATELLITE Unveiled Theater. They will also be available at AQYR’s booth (1939) throughout the show. Both antennas, plus AQYR’s other terminals such as the AN/PRS-11, TYPHOON and ThinPACK will be available for demonstration.
