Stratford School Appoints Head of High School for Campus Opening in Fall 2019
SANTA CLARA, CA (PRWEB) March 13, 2018 -- Stratford School announces the appointment of Dr. Jeanne Huybrechts, Ed.D., as the Head of School for Stratford’s first high school in Santa Clara, which will open in the Fall of 2019.
Dr. Huybrechts will lead the development and design of Stratford School’s high school. Plans feature the creation of a rigorous and engaging college preparatory curriculum which will include traditional areas of study while highlighting real-world applications, notably in STEM and entrepreneurial fields, and renovations to the new campus designed to support learning goals for students.
In a broader view, Dr. Huybrechts believes that the Stratford School curriculum will give students opportunities to develop their passions as well as discover new ones, engage within STEAM disciplines, and freely exchange ideas toward the goal of finding their own voices. For Stratford, high school is a natural extension of its advanced and intentionally balanced programs for students in preschool through eighth grade at more than 23 campuses located throughout California.
“We are proud and honored to have Dr. Huybrechts join the Stratford family,” said Sherry Adams, founder of Stratford School. “With her vast years of experience and successes in education, we truly believe that Dr. Huybrechts is skilled to lead Stratford’s new high school and build upon our existing program to better guide our students at this level.”
With more than 30 years of experience in teaching and school leadership, Dr. Huybrechts’ commitment to high-quality education has been demonstrated in both private and public school settings. Prior to accepting the position as Head of School at Stratford School, Dr. Huybrechts served for 11 years as the Head of Harvard-Westlake School, where she spearheaded school improvements in STEM programs, global education, student wellness, and more. She has also served on the governing boards of several schools and nonprofit organizations. Dr. Huybrechts holds undergraduate degrees in both Chemistry and Political science and earned her doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of California, Los Angeles.
Stratford School’s new high school will be located at 2000 Lawrence Court, Santa Clara, California (formerly Saint Lawrence Academy High School). For more information on Stratford School, please visit http://www.stratfordschools.com/high-school.
