The Arizona Pet Project Awards Stella The Pitbull the Loyal Companion Award at the 15th Annual HERO Awards Dinner
(PRWEB) March 14, 2018 -- Awards abound in the red-carpet world of Hollywood, but none can hold a candle to the The Loyal Companion Award, a recognition Stella the Pitbull aka IncredibullStella, an Arizona-based rescue dog, received from The Arizona Pet Project.
The Loyal Companion Award is one of the highest recognitions bestowed upon an animal by The Arizona Pet Project. Recognized for her loyalty to her human family, Stella the Pitbull is being honored for providing comfort and happiness to the family who was affected by cancer and depression.
On March 10th, The Arizona Pet Project hosted the 15th Annual HERO Awards, a fundraising event to save even more lives through the shelter prevention programs in Maricopa County. The event is also an opportunity to recognize local animals who have proved their courage, ability to overcome the greatest of challenges and their will to live.
More than just “another pretty face” Stella builds collaborative relationships with pet centric organizations to raise awareness and funds to support spay and neutering initiatives, as well as food and supplies for low income families.
These partnerships are designed to benefit as many animal causes as possible. Thanks to a partnership between Halo Pets and Stella the Pitbull, The Arizona Pet Project will receive 5,000 bowls of Halo Pets food courtesy of Freekibble.com and GreaterGood.org.
“We are so appreciative to Halo Pets and the IncredibullStella for this amazing donation. Thanks to Halo’s generosity, many dogs and their families, who may be facing difficult times, will benefit, ensuring full bellies and fewer animals surrendered to local shelters. And Stella is sure to get her fair share of treats!”, comments Leanna Taylor, Executive Director AZ Pet Project.

About The Arizona Pet Project
The Arizona Pet Project’s primary goal is preventing pet homelessness by keeping families with pets together. Oftentimes, pet owners can’t afford to care for their animals and they surrender them at shelters. The reasons are many—owners may have lost their jobs or their homes, suffered an illness, or had a divorce or death in the family. Or their pet may have gotten sick and they can’t pay the veterinary bills. Surrendering a pet to a shelter where they are frequently euthanized is a tragedy we want to avoid. The Arizona Pet project is here to support families by keeping their pets healthy and safe. Animals bring comfort, joy, healing and health, and we believe those benefits shouldn’t be restricted to a very small percentage of owners who can afford the best care and resources pets deserve.
