Vanny Vorng’s New Book “Heartbreaking: A Survival Memoir” is a Heart-wrenching Autobiography Detailing a Life Filled with Constant Strife and a Resolve to Survive
CONROE, Texas (PRWEB) March 20, 2018 -- Vanny Vorng, a BA in history and minor in political science graduate from Sam Houston State University, an entrepreneur and business owner in diverse markets, and a volunteer for the Texas Cambodian community, has completed his new book “Heartbreaking: A Survival Memoir”: a potent account of the author’s real-life experiences in the grief-stricken Cambodia during the 1970s.
Author Vorng puts into words his desire to share his and his family’s gripping circumstances of trying to survive and escape the dangers of war, invasion, and death: “After a couple of canals had been dug, I asked our group leader for permission to go home and see my family. The leaders allowed us to rotate, with each taking off for a week or so to see our people in the village. I missed my family; it had been over four months, and I wanted to see them. My leader granted me permission to go home for ten days. At that point, the murderous regime of the Khmer Rouge had not solidified, and many of the administrators within the government were schoolteachers, lawyers, doctors, governors, and such.”
Published by New York City-based Page Publishing, Vanny Vorng’s striking true-to-life recounting shows a man’s determination to surpass the overwhelming odds of conflict that pushed him to leave with his family his motherland in search of greener and safer pastures and a new life.
Readers who wish to experience this entrenching work can purchase “Heartbreaking: A Survival Memoir” at bookstores everywhere, or online at the Apple iTunes store, Amazon, Google Play, or Barnes and Noble.
