American Physician Partners Expands Footprint in Tennessee and Virginia
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (PRWEB) March 14, 2018 -- American Physician Partners, LLC, a leader in emergency medicine and hospital medicine management services, announced the acquisition of Northeast Tennessee Emergency Physicians, PC (“NETEP”) on March 9, 2018. NETEP provides full-service emergency department management services to seven Ballad Health hospitals in the Tri-Cities area of Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia, including two Trauma Centers. Ballad Health was formed in 2018 through the merger of Mountain States Health Alliance and Wellmont Health System. Mark Woodard, MD, NETEP’s president, will serve as the regional medical director.
“As a quality-driven company, we continually seek ways to enhance the level of service we provide to our patients and hospital partners,” said Dr. Woodard. “We are excited about our new relationship with American Physician Partners, which shares our values of providing the highest quality of care to patients, unparalleled value to hospitals, and an excellent practice environment for our physicians and advanced practice providers.”
“We are thrilled to add NETEP’s quality providers to our team and to have the opportunity to serve Ballad Health,” said John Rutledge, president and CEO of American Physician Partners. “Together we will continue to deliver high-quality, compassionate emergency care for patients and their families throughout the Tri-Cities community.”
With the addition of these seven contracts, American Physician Partners’ 855 providers now care for approximately 1.5 million patients annually through 78 contracts in 14 states, making it one of the fastest-growing emergency medicine and hospital medicine management companies in the country.
