The La Jolla based hotel operates under the Holiday Inn Express brand, a hotel flag under the Intercontinental Hotel Group that caters towards both business and leisure travelers. The renovation included the construction of an entirely new 3-story wing, adding 17 additional room keys and a fitness center. In addition to the new wing, the pool area was refinished and upgraded with new furnishings, along with a complete remodel of both the lobby and breakfast room areas. Existing guest rooms also received updates including new flooring, case goods, televisions, soft goods, and bath fixtures.

With these upgrades, the hotel plans to capitalize on the growing demand for accommodations in the greater San Diego and La Jolla markets. The property is located in a desirable area of La Jolla- a short five minute walk from Windansea Beach. The new wing of the hotel features guest rooms with views facing out towards the Pacific Ocean.
