My son Angel is very excited about his upcoming car racing event against Sergeant Garcia. I couldn't believe that there was actually an opportunity for Angel that he could in fact legally do car racing even against a Police Officer. I thank everyone who sponsors and supports this kind of event…
SYLMAR, Calif. (PRWEB) March 14, 2018
In cooperation with LA City Council President Pro Tempore Mitchell Englander, MotorGospel Ministries is now offering a Beat The Heat program which occurs the last Thursday of every month at the Irwindale Dragstrip starting in April.
The Beat The Heat program provides an opportunity for motorsports enthusiasts including illegal street racers to compete against off-duty police officers in heads-up 1/8th mile drags. The officers will be driving the Cadet Race Team car provided by MotorGospel Ministries at no cost to the taxpayers. It is hoped that the Beat The Heat program will encourage illegal street racers to move their motorsports experience to the track.
That hope is not merely hypothetical. The inaugural Beat The Heat event on April 12th, 2018 is going to feature Angel Rodriguez who was arrested for street racing and sentenced by the court to do community service in MotorGospel Ministries’ anti-street-racing campaign. Angel will be racing against off-duty police Sergeant Jesse Garcia to kick off the Beat The Heat series.
More than a few people are excited about this milestone.
In the words of Angel, "MotorGospel & Aaron Schwartzbart taught me how to race cars safely without having to worry about cops or getting my car impounded for 30 days, and now I’m going to take on the head of the CTD Street Racing Task Force 1 on 1 in a drag race"
Angel’s mother Euphemia showed visible relief at having this opportunity for her son; “I'm very grateful to Sergeant Jesus Garcia for referring my son Angel Rodriguez to Aaron Schwartzbart from MotorGospel. Angel is currently working with Aaron to do community service hours he was asked to complete as a court order. My son Angel is very excited about his upcoming car racing event against Sergeant Garcia. I couldn't believe that there was actually an opportunity for Angel that he could in fact legally do car racing even against a Police Officer. I thank everyone who sponsors and supports this kind of event…"
