“The Peace Bird” is the creation of published author, Connie Payne Gibson. Connie graduated from Berry College with a BS degree in art education. Originally from Canton, Georgia, she was married for thirty-five years and resided in the Albany/Leesburg, Georgia area where she worked and retired as a high school art teacher. While teaching, she earned a master’s and specialist degree, which later allowed her to hold positions as an adjunct and associate professor of art. After an unwanted divorce, she moved from the area to follow God’s lead and start her life over. Today, Connie resides on a small farm in North West, Georgia where she enjoys an eclectic lifestyle. Her days are centered on her faith, family, friends, and farm. In addition to writing, she still enjoys creating art, especially in the areas of textiles and fibers. Connie is the mother of two adult children and the delighted grandmother of three-year-old boy-girl twins.
‘“The Peace Bird” was written to encourage those who have found themselves in a situation where their world as they know it has been taken away and replaced with hurt, a deep feeling of loss, and a sense of not knowing which way to turn.’ --Connie Payne Gibson
Published by Christian Faith Publishing, Connie Payne Gibson’s new book is a collection of inspirational stories. The bird is a symbol of hope and peace that was given to author Connie Payne Gibson one evening after she cried out in pain to God. It now resides in a kitchen windowsill alongside a stone engraved with the words “Begin Again.”
