NASA Selects Akima to Support the Facilities Operations and Maintenance Division at Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (PRWEB) March 15, 2018 -- The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) awarded Akima Support Operations, LLC (ASO), a wholly owned subsidiary of Akima, LLC, a contract valued at $131.7 million to support the Facilities Operations and Maintenance Division at Goddard Space Flight Center beginning March 15, 2018. The Facilities Operations and Maintenance Services (FOMS) III contract is a hybrid cost-plus-fixed-fee/technical-performance-incentive-fee, with a cost-plus-fixed-fee and firm-fixed-price indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity component.

Under the terms of the contract, Akima will provide support, such as ensuring reliable utility services for critical operations (central power plants, high-voltage systems, generators, fire protection systems), snow and ice removal, roof replacement and repair, asbestos abatement, painting and caulking, paving and pouring concrete, fence repairs, chemical water treatment, boiler maintenance and repair, and emergency services.
