TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Today, Health & Wellness Integrated Healthcare Centers, awarded a $5,000 charitable contribution to Capital City Rowing (CCR), announced President & CEO, Dr. Yvette Mignon. CCR, a local non-profit youth rowing organization, will use the funds to purchase a new shell (racing boat), equipment and to fund entry fees and travel to competitions across the state and the country.
Dr. Mignon said, “CCR fosters excellence in rowing to promote fitness and character and is a wonderful outlet for instilling these traits early in the lives of our young people. Setting goals to promote fitness and character development are the same important principles we strive to uphold in our practice’s integrated mind, body and spirit patient care model.”
CCR President, Carrie Stolp said, “We truly appreciate the generous gift from Health & Wellness Integrated Healthcare Centers. Dr. Mignon and her clinicians have long been wonderful supporters of our organization, and their donation will benefit area young persons who may not have otherwise had the opportunity to participate in and grow from their involvement in this sport.”
Health & Wellness Integrated Healthcare Centers has been granted the privilege of naming the CCR competition shell, which will bear the name Ezinne.
Dr. Mignon chose the name to honor her daughter, a nationally ranked rower and CCR member, who aspires to compete at the college level within either the Ivy league or Big 10 Conference.
The CCR shell will be officially christened Ezzine during a ceremony at 8:00 AM on March 17, prior to the Capital City Rowing Lake Talquin Regatta. CCR will play host to Atlanta Junior Rowing Association, Winter Park Crew, and Orlando Area Rowing Society during this competition.
Dr. Mignon said, “My daughter has benefited tremendously from the moral integrity CCR promotes through the spirit of competition, and the work ethic and tenacity this organization encouraged are leading her toward very a bright future.”
CCR is a community of rowers and the coaches, parents and friends who support them. CCR is established for the purposes of providing opportunities for young men and women enrolled in middle or high school, Big Bend Area residents and other program participants to participate in the sport of team rowing for the development of rowing skills, physical fitness, self-motivation and initiative and a competitive spirit and sense of team work.
