Attorney Paul C. Ray and CCBA Helping the Less Fortunate in Clark County
LAS VEGAS (PRWEB) March 19, 2018 -- Attorney Paul C. Ray, founder of Paul C. Ray, Chtd., and the Clark County Bar Association Community Service Committee are taking part in a number of community service efforts in 2018. One such service is Books Behind Bars, aimed at helping inmates at the Clark County Detention Center with non-legal reading material.
“Books Behind Bars was inspired by the belief that reading helps reduce recidivism in inmates,” said Ray, co-chair of the Clark County Bar Association Community Service Committee. “It was a successful effort, with approximately 370 books delivered for inmates to read, donated from all over Clark County.”
The Clark County Bar Association Community Service Committee also recently participated in the CCBA Volunteer Day at Three Square Food Bank. Bar members and their families helped sort and sanitize enough bins to distribute 16,000 Kids Cafe meals for children who are food insecure and hungry in the community. The next CCBA Volunteer Day at Three Square Food Bank is scheduled for March 24.
“The bar members and their families are making a difference in our community with these donations of their time and service,” Ray related. “We also appreciated Nevada Supreme Court Justice Lydia S. Stiglich joining in our recent Volunteer Day project.”
The CCBA is also spearheading a donation drive to blanket the homeless. Financial donations can be made directly to the CCBA via mail at 717 S. 8th Street, Las Vegas, NV, 89101, or the Clark County Law Foundation (CCLF), 725 S. 8th Street, Las Vegas, NV, 89101 (marking payment to benefit “Blanket the Homeless”). Donations can also be made to CCLF online at http://www.clarkcountylawfoundation.org/community-service/.
“This is a great opportunity for Bar members to provide local homeless people with rescue blankets. We have already exceeded the number collected last year, and will be collecting for the rest of 2018,” concluded Ray. “Please do not donate blankets. The blankets will be purchased by the Clark County Law Foundation and distributed to local charities that serve the homeless people in the Las Vegas area.”
