A licensed clinical social worker, Dr. Lewis is currently a mental health clinical supervisor with the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health. Dr. Lewis received his Doctor of Philosophy degree in Human Services from Walden University of Baltimore, Maryland. He received his Masters of Divinity degree from Fuller Theological Seminary of Pasadena, California. He also holds a Masters in Ministry degree from the Southern California School of Ministry, Inglewood, California, as well as a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Nebraska at Omaha and a Bachelors of Science degree in Social Services from California State Polytechnic University of Pomona, California. Dr. Lewis is the president and owner of Lewis Counseling Services, a comprehensive provider of counseling services in Los Angeles County. His firm has provided counseling services to the Greater Los Angeles community for the past twenty-two years.
Dr. Lewis has worked in human services for the past thirty-seven years and is also a pastor and elder ordained through the Church of God Ministries organization in Anderson, Indiana and through the Interstate Association of the Church of God. He is a senior pastor of the Holy Deliverance Church of God, Carson, California. In addition, he is a diplomat of Clinical Forensic Counseling, credentialed through the American College of Certified Forensic Counselors. He is a certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor II as well as an Internationally Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor through the California Consortium of Addiction Programs and Professionals. Dr. Lewis is also a US Department of Transportation Substance Abuse Professional and a Substance Abuse Expert through the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission. For nearly ten years as the law enforcement liaison for the seven Los Angeles County Regional Centers, he coordinated vital services for developmentally disabled adults who have been incarcerated in the Los Angeles County prison system. For nearly twenty years, Dr. Lewis has provided psychological counseling services for young adult parolees who were wards of the California Youth Authority.
Published by Christian Faith Publishing, Dr. Lewis’s book shares how he fought on the front lines of the war on crime.
