Newman Medical Introduces ABI with Exercise to Improve PAD Diagnosis

While PAD effects more than 20 percent of adults over the age of 65, it remains an under diagnosed and under treated disease since many patients with PAD are asymptomatic. If untreated, one in four patients with PAD will suffer a heart attack, stroke, amputation, or death within five years.

Newman Medical’s ABI with Exercise Study can help physicians detect PAD in patients with intermittent claudication or whose resting ABI is not sufficient to diagnose PAD.
