Plant Delights Nursery, Inc. at Juniper Level Botanic Garden, Celebrating 30 Years, Announces its Spring Open Nursery and Garden Days
RALEIGH, N.C. (PRWEB) April 20, 2018 -- Juniper Level Botanic Garden, JLBG, established in 1988 by Raleigh native Tony Avent, is a 28-acre not-for-profit private research and botanic garden with over 23,000 different plants. JLBG, proudly supported by Plant Delights Nursery, Inc., for thirty years, offers over 1,700 of the perennial plants from the garden through on-line and event weekends.
The gardens are open to the public by appointment Monday through Friday, and invite the public eight weekends a year, two weekends in the winter, spring, summer, and fall, to come experience the beauty of JLBG as it changes each season.
JLBG’s mission is to promote and preserve botanic diversity by bridging the gap between botany and horticulture, through plant exploration both in the US and abroad, study, identification, and educational outreach, followed by selection, breeding, and propagation. We also work closely with the top plant explorers and breeders across the globe to trial and make new and rare perennial plants available for gardens around the world. JLBG welcomes public, private and corporate donations and has established a 501(c)(3) to preserve, protect and maintain the gardens for future generations to experience.
JLBG is affiliated with many Associations, and this year, we are excited to be hosting the International Magnolia Society in March, the American Conifer Society in June, and the Perennial Plant Association in August.

With the joy of spring and the re-emergence of so many beautiful plants after the cold winter months of dormancy, our garden is the perfect source to fuel the gardeners’ renewed energy. Spring gardens reward patience, endurance, and gratitude with their rebirth, on so many levels. The sweetness of the spring gardens provides a stunning display of so many colors and textures…native Louisiana iris, vibrant peonies, woodland orchids, our native insect-eating pitcher plants, and many hardy ferns.
Make sure to catch one of our free interactive garden chat series, Gardening Unplugged, during each day of our Open Nursery and Garden. Tony and our expert staff discuss trilliums, hardy agave and cactus, hostas, hardy orchids, and pitcher plants while strolling through the gardens.
Come talk with our experts on staff as you shop our huge selection of unique, rare, and native perennials during our 2018 Spring Open Nursery and Garden Days. This is a great time to see the amazing colors and scents of the garden in spring. Once home, our expert staff are always ready to offer advice on how to plant and maintain your new treasures with a simple phone call or email.
Don’t miss it. Become a part of our ex-situ conservation efforts!
