Seasoned healthcare executive will lead operations in Illinois and drive future growth

Oak Street Health, a network of health centers providing a new model of value-based primary care for Medicare patients, has named Bob Trinh as the President of Oak Street Health Illinois. Mr. Trinh will lead Oak Street Health’s current and future operations in Illinois, and work closely with Dr. David Buchanan, Executive Medical Director of Oak Street Health Illinois, to expand the company’s clinical presence and total reach in the state.

“Bob is going to be the driving force behind our Illinois operations. We’re excited to leverage his Medicare experience and knowledge as we expand our presence in the state,” said Mike Pykosz, CEO of Oak Street Health. “He has a clear passion for improving the lives of patients, which ties directly into our mission to rebuild healthcare as it should be.”

Mr. Trinh joins Oak Street Health from DaVita Medical Group, where he served as the Market Vice President for Orlando and South Florida. As Market Vice President, he supervised an organization of 75 providers and nearly 400 team members across 29 primary care clinics. Mr. Trinh also worked at Physicians United Plan and led STARS, health services, risk adjustment, finance, and IT teams at different times during his tenure there. His extensive healthcare experience managing teams and spearheading company-wide initiatives will be a major asset for the growth and development of Oak Street Health.

Oak Street Health’s recent investments in its Illinois leadership team will spearhead the company's expansion into new markets. In the next year, Oak Street Health plans to expand the number of patients covered in its existing centers, and open new centers in Little Village, Bellwood, and Hermosa. Mr. Trinh will work in tandem with Dr. Buchanan to expand Oak Street Health’s primary care team in both new and existing sites across Illinois and drive operational excellence to help the organization scale successfully.

“I’m thrilled to join Oak Street Health and lead the company’s growth strategy, ” said Trinh. “Oak Street Health is at the forefront of a major transformation in the healthcare industry. One where services are accessible for all, patients get more personalized care from doctors and providers coordinate to optimize outcomes. I’m excited to support this mission and further extend Oak Street’s reach across the state of Illinois.”

About Oak Street Health
Oak Street Health is a rapidly growing company of primary care centers for adults on Medicare in medically-underserved communities where there is little to no quality healthcare. Oak Street’s care is based on an entirely new model that is based on value for its patients, not on volume of services. The company is accountable for its patients’ health, spending more than twice as long with its patients and taking on the risks and costs of their care. Since 2013, Oak Street Health has been investing in communities across the Midwest – providing much-needed primary care for tens of thousands of people in 24 centers. The company recently announced an expansion to Philadelphia in 2018. For more information, visit http://www.oakstreethealth.com.
