Dr. Benjamin Cummings, RFC Assumes Editorial Role for Journal of Personal Finance

The International Association of Registered Financial Consultants (IARFC) announces that starting with the Fall issue of 2018, the new editor of the Journal of Personal Finance is Benjamin Cummings, Ph.D., CFP®, RFC®. He succeeds editors Wade D. Pfau, Ph.D., CFA, RFC® and Walt Woerheide, Ph.D., ChFC®, CFP®, MRFC who have successfully provided the Association with insightful academic research on pertinent financial issues.

We are happy to welcome Dr. Cummings as the editor of the Journal. His research background gives him a helpful perspective when assuming the editorial lead for our academic publication...H. Stephen Bailey, IARFC Chairman and CEO.

Dr. Cummings areas of expertise include Charitable Giving, Education Planning Issues, Estate Planning, Financial Planning, Financial Planning Software & Technology, Individual Income Tax Planning, Life Insurance Planning, Life Insurance Practices, Portfolio Management, and Retirement Planning.

Currently he is the Associate Professor of Behavioral Finance at The American College of Financial Services. His primary responsibilities include teaching behavioral finance in the Financial and Retirement Planning Ph.D. program and advising doctoral candidates on dissertation research. His research focuses on making retirement, charitable, tax, and investment decisions.

As an award winning researcher on the use and value of financial advice, Dr. Cummings has published research in the Journal of Financial Counseling and Planning, Geneva Papers on Risk and Insurance, Journal of Financial Planning, and the Journal of Financial Service Professionals. His works have been quoted in MarketWatch and USA Today.

For members of the IARFC, the Journal of Personal Finance is a benefit and a source of continuing education credits. Up to six credits of CE can be obtained by reading the entire edition. Members can then take the IARFC Journal of Personal Finance Online CE quizzes. Two hours of IARFC CE will be awarded to anyone who achieves a score of 13 or higher per quiz.
