ISLAND PARK, N.Y. (PRWEB) March 28, 2018
B. K. Berrell, a veteran of the US Marine Corps and multiple law enforcement agencies, has completed his new book “Cities on Hills”: a gripping novel exuding with mystics, murderers, and psychotic maniacs colliding to make life a living hell.
Author Berrell presents the terrifying unfamiliarity one has with life and fate: “He began to walk slowly toward it. As he passed the first door on his right, he inspected it closely. There was no handle or knob. He pushed, without effect. The door stayed shut. He pressed his ear against the surprisingly warm metal surface. Silence stretched on until boom! Something large slammed into the other side of the door,
causing it to shudder. Jack sprang back and dropped his flashlight to the ground. The bulb shattered, and he found himself bathed in darkness. Something was pounding on the door now in a frighteningly quick cadence. It was echoed by whatever was behind the other doors, and soon the hallway was filled with a series of crashes and thuds as whatever was behind the steel showed its strength. Fluorescent overhead lighting snapped to life and began to flicker. Jack’s eyes struggled to cope with the strobe effect. The banging built to a deafening crescendo as though it were trying to keep pace with the frantic flashes of light. Jack started to back away toward the stairs when suddenly the light held steady and the banging ceased.”
Published by New York City-based Page Publishing, B. K. Berrell’s suspenseful account convolutes all of humanity’s dark desires in a tale.
