Author Tonya Mills’s Newly Released “A Miracle of Life” is the Story of Ty Mills and how she Became a Miracle by Overcoming Life-Threatening Birth Defects
KESWICK, Va. (PRWEB) March 28, 2018 -- “A Miracle of Life”: the story of a mother and a newborn baby girl who overcame the multiple heart defects she was born with. “A Miracle of Life” is the creation of published author, Tonya Mills. Tonya graduated from Albemarle High School. Upon graduation, she went on to the International Beauty School and received her certification as a cosmetologist. She is the youngest daughter of James and Elsie Mills. Growing up in Keswick, Virginia, Tonya was a bodacious country girl. She was what one might call a “risk taker.” She enjoyed playing with her sisters, her cousins, and the neighborhood children. They did what a lot of country children did: rode bikes through neighborhood trails, made mud pies, chased after her great uncle’s pigs, and built club houses, just to name a few things. She also enjoyed singing on the youth choir at her home church. On May 21, 2006, at 6:26 PM, her life would forever be changed when she was blessed with a beautiful baby girl.
“I heard him say my baby girl was still alive, still with me and my family, still fighting for her life. The tears of sorrow turned into tears of joy, unspeakable joy! He went on explaining to me Tytianna’s condition, and even though her condition was life threatening, she was still alive, and that was all that mattered to me at that time.” --Tonya Mills
Published by Christian Faith Publishing, Tonya Mills’s new book is a testimony to a mother’s unconditional love for her child.
When giving birth, a mother would never take the opinion of one doctor telling her, “We have done all we can do. You can take your baby home with meds to keep her comfortable until she passes.” Upon hearing these words after the birth of her own child, Tonya Mills requested the opinion of another doctor who actually specialized in her daughter’s condition: congenital heart defect. Ty was, however, born with four defects, not just one. Her first surgery took place when she three days old and it was just the start of many more to come. The hospital would become a home away from home for the newborn and new mother.
Every doctor appointed after Ty’s first surgery seemed to discover yet another issue. Ty was going to need feeding tubes for the rest of her life. She could not hear, talk, see, or walk on her own. At one point, Tonya thought she would lose her mind, so she turned to alcohol. That was only a temporary fix. The problems were always still there the next day. Tonya did not think she could take any more bad news. After a great deal of prayer, family support, and support from her church family, her daughter beat all the odds, thus becoming her mom’s miracle.
