HS-UK to host CET-accredited workshops at Optrafair 2018
Harlow, UK (PRWEB UK) 23 March 2018 -- Haag-Streit UK (HS-UK), the leading manufacturer and distributor of gold-standard optometry and ophthalmic equipment, is looking forward to an exciting Optrafair 2018, at the Birmingham NEC on Saturday 14th to Monday 16th of April.
Three different education workshops will be on offer on the HS-UK stand, F32, and attendees are eligible to receive 2 CET Points for each session. HS-UK Clinical Education and Training Manager, Grant Duncan, and HS-UK Product Manager, Sam Laidlaw, will host the following;
• The 'True Colour & Infrared Confocal Wide-field Imaging' lecture and workshop will take place on Saturday 14th from 12 noon-1pm, Sunday 15th from 9.30am-10.30am and Monday 16th from 2pm-3pm. The new technology behind true colour confocal imaging will be explained and how this technology combined with fundus autofluorescence and wide field imaging is allowing conditions to be spotted much earlier than before.
• The 'Slit Lamp Masterclass' will take place on Saturday 14th at 10.30am-11.30am and Sunday 15th at 11am-12pm and at 2pm-3pm. This session provides an insight into how best to improve slit lamp examination skills, using the correct techniques, to ensure the best outcomes for patients. The demonstration will also feature the use of various slit lamp accessories, including those used for tonometry, use of dye stains, imaging and indirect examination of the fundus, as well as discussing advanced techniques such as gonioscopy.
• The 'Glaucoma Function & Structure' workshop will take place on Sunday 15th at 2pm-3pm and Monday 16th at 10am-11am and at 12 noon-1pm. Attendees will examine the relationship between retinal nerve fibre layer structure, as seen in OCT analysis, and visual function, as described by perimetric visual field testing. The workshop will also look at the emerging use of OCT-A in mapping structural changes to the retinal vasculature in glaucoma.
In addition to the on-stand workshops, HS-UK will also be exhibiting a large selection of its product portfolio on its stand, including; the Eidon wide-field confocal scanner. This versatile device provides a 60° field in a single exposure, a unique, live confocal view of the retina, three different imaging modalities and dilation-free operation.
Another key product on show will be the prestigious BQ 900 LED slit lamp with the addition of the new IM 900 imaging module. This innovative accessory allows every clinician to produce high quality pictures as part of the routine slit lamp examination.
Other products being exhibited will include; the popular AngioVue OCT-A and iScan OCT devices from Optovue; the DRS retinal camera; and the Haag-Streit Octopus 600 perimeter.
Haag-Streit sister company IPRO will also be exhibiting on stand F32. Latest updates to the Optician software solution WinIPRO will be showcased, which include online appointment bookings. Developments to the 3D refraction system, PASKAL 3D, will also be on show, including new test series for multi-focal contact lenses and test series for children and teens.
Sharon Mills, HS-UK Marketing Manager, said, “We are thrilled to be supporting the Optrafair education programme this year with our on-stand lectures and workshops. Topics range from slit lamp skills to wide-field imaging, so there’s something to interest everyone, along with the opportunity to earn valuable CET points. In addition, we will be showcasing some innovative optometry equipment on the HS-UK stand.”
