Quinta Brunson, Viral Content Creator and Comedian, To Give Back to Philadelphia High School Students This Spring
LOS ANGELES (PRWEB) March 28, 2018 -- Viral content creator and comedian Quinta Brunson is giving back to her hometown community of Philadelphia through providing more than a dozen high school students with prom dresses, accessories, shoes and tuxedo rentals for their upcoming spring 2018 promenade dance. ASOS, the global fashion destination for 20-somethings, will be providing prom dresses from their ASOS EDITION collection.
Announced through a tweet on January 19, Quinta immediately received widespread support from followers, as well as dozens of replies from photographers, hair and makeup artists, and others willing to collaborate. Her philanthropic decision quickly became national press and has been mentioned by or featured on multiple outlets, including Essence Magazine, Okayplayer, The Philly Voice, and the radio show “Your Voice with Solomon Jones.”
“I love my hometown of Philadelphia. Last year, I lost my cousin to the gun violence in the city and he didn’t get to attend his final prom,” says Quinta. “This year, I wanted to share what I loved about him, his generosity and good heart, by donating prom attire to those in need. I’m excited to send a few folks off to prom with dresses or tuxedos to make them feel special and beautiful.”
Quinta is working directly with different schools throughout Philadelphia to hand-select students to choose their prom look. Some schools they are working with include her former high school Charter High School for Architecture and Design and her late cousin’s high school Preparatory Charter School, among others.
In 2014, Quinta had the first viral video on Instagram to date, “The Girl Who’s Never Been on a Nice Date,” and just two years later, she was the first BuzzFeed Motion Pictures producer to be signed under contract to write, direct, star and produce her own projects within the media company’s studio division. Catch her on this upcoming season of Fox’s New Girl.
Recently, she was cast in the new CW dramedy pilot “The End of the World as We Know It.” In December 2017, Quinta launched a five-episode comedic series titled Quinta Vs. Everything on Facebook Watch with views for each episode ranging from 800k to 1.4M views.
