Roxanne Wilder, Host of On-Air Show The Current, Interviews Mike Sanders of NTI Regarding Job Services for Americans with Disabilities
BOSTON (PRWEB) March 26, 2018 -- NTI is currently working to spread awareness of the nationwide job services they offer to Americans with Disabilities, including Disabled Veterans. As part of their ongoing effort, NTI is often spotlighted on various public affairs radio programs across the nation. Recently, NTI Director of Marketing Mike Sanders was interviewed by Roxanne Wilder, host of on-air show The Current. The Current is Beasley Media Group’s public affairs and community news talk show, airing eight times each week on several Beasley stations. The program features the very best of what’s happening in the greater Tampa Bay area in Florida, and includes interviews with community leaders, non-profits, businesses, journalists, politicians and others making a difference in the community. Sanders shared with Wilder a bit about the history and mission of NTI. For more than 20 years, NTI has been instrumental in helping Americans with Disabilities who are ready to either go back to work following a disability, or ready to work for the first time with a disability, to find employment that meets their needs. Over 175,000 people have been helped by NTI, and the disabilities have ranged from spinal cord injuries to autism.
During the interview, Sanders discussed the two NTI divisions that offer services to assist individuals with disabilities back into the workplace. NTI’s @Home division places Americans and Veterans with Disabilities in work-at-home jobs. Most of those jobs are within the call/contact center vertical, or with IT help desks. NTI hires people directly for in-house work as well as providing candidates for many Fortune 500 companies looking for qualified and dedicated workers. Sanders shared with Wilder the fact that NTI works with companies like Amazon and IBM, and they also manage a call center for the IRS. In fact, if you call the IRS during tax season with a question about forms, the likelihood is that you are speaking with an employee of NTI who is working at home with a disability.
NTI’s LandAJob division has a different focus. LandAJob offers qualified individuals two services. The first is for individuals with disabilities who are searching for employment in a traditional work environment. LandAJob has a searchable database of over 500,000 jobs across the nation that is available exclusively to Americans with Disabilities. The second thing LandAJob offers is for individuals with disabilities who are already employed. For those people, LandAJob offers a federally sponsored reimbursement program. Through the program, up to $12,000 is available to reimburse job related expenses that allow individuals to stay employed, things like computers, transportation, work clothing, and child or elder care.
Both divisions of NTI offer various free and virtual training programs to make sure people returning to the workplace have the skills they need to be successful. As part of NTI’s ongoing efforts to help as many Americans with Disabilities as they can, NTI is always evaluating new ways to help. Recently, they have added new roles in-house at NTI to assure the ongoing success of their mission. The new roles are Solution Advisors and eMentors, both of whom work hand-in-hand with those with disabilities to guide and mentor them along the path to full reemployment from the time they first register for services all the way through getting offered a job, hired for that job, and for the first several months thereafter as needed.
