Misunderstood

I’m young, black, and misunderstood
If I’m white I refuse to fight
Since I’m black I choose to fight
For my right to survive in life
The life I choose
Ain’t always what it seems
The life I live
Don’t define me
What would you do
If you was me?
Allow the system to
Silence, suppress, and discriminate
Against me or channel the hate
To exercise my right to fight
In a positive protest
To my First Amendment
What can I do?
I have nothin’ to lose
I’m young, black, and misunderstood
