On June 30, 2017, Blackbird Technologies filed a patent infringement lawsuit against INRIX, Inc. in the United States District Court for the District of Delaware (17-cv-00877), concerning technology relating to determining traffic conditions by monitoring drivers' cellphone locations. The patent at issue is United States Patent No. 9,400,190, entitled "Real-time traffic condition measurement using network transmission data." Earlier this year, Blackbird Technologies settled with INRIX.

It is inventions like these that plainly demonstrate the need to maintain a strong patent system. We are so pleased that we could help the inventor of this essential technology."
