Today, the Fundica Roadshow announced a partnership with Panache Ventures, Canada's most active seed stage venture capital fund, which will consider investing a total of $500,000 in Canada’s most promising startups. The Roadshow, a cross-Canada initiative, is aiming to advance financial literacy by educating, inspiring and funding entrepreneurs. Last year, the Fundica Roadshow brought together over 150 startups, 2000 attendees, 132 funders, and 125 partners, making it the largest pitch competition across Canada.
The 2018 Fundica Roadshow will initially stop in three Canadian cities (Montreal on May 1st, Vancouver on May 31st and Toronto on June 28th). In each city, up to 20 select entrepreneurs will pitch to a panel of funders. The top pitchers in each city will win choice prizes including three months rent at WeWork, as well as an invitation to the Finale in Montreal on July 12th, where they will also receive investment consideration from Panache Ventures, for up to a total amount of $500,000. Each stop will feature inspiring speakers, educational workshops, networking opportunities with funders and entrepreneurs, and some fun surprises.
