The CIR Business Continuity Awards recognises companies and individuals that stand out in the areas of business continuity, security, resilience and risk including Water Direct and its unique WaterTight™ Water Supply Contingency Planning service.
Water Direct’s submission highlighted the company’s strides in promoting and facilitating best practice in water contingency planning for UK businesses and organisations. Since the opening of the UK water market in 2017, Water Direct has forged emergency supply partnerships with 90% of the UK’s newly-formed water retailers.
The importance of water contingency planning was highlighted during this month’s extreme weather conditions, which resulted in Water Direct assisting water suppliers with the delivery of more than 11 million litres of emergency water to UK homes and businesses in less than one week.
“We’re delighted to have been shortlisted for the CIR Awards,” commented Water Direct’s Sven Parris. “Highlighting the critical nature of water supply to UK businesses that is so often overlooked in continuity planning is at the heart of what we do. It’s timely that we have just seen such extreme conditions, which are a reminder of the importance of effective planning.”
“To put it in context, in just one week leading up to March ninth, Water Direct delivered and pumped more than 20% of the amount of emergency water we would usually supply in a whole year. We can never predict what might happen, but we can, and should be prepared when it does. Our aim is to educate, facilitate, and raise the profile of water supply contingency planning and stimulate awareness of water as a critical business continuity theme.”
The winners of the 2018 CIR Business Continuity Awards will be announced at a black-tie ceremony taking place at the London Marriott Hotel Grosvenor Square on Thursday, 7 June 2018.
With nationwide coverage and 24/7 service, Water Direct provides planned and emergency temporary water wherever and whenever it’s needed.
